Did you know basil tea is good for anxiety?! I think all of us are feeling the stress these days! Which is probably why I planted so much basil!
Health Benefits of Basil:
How To Make Basil Tea
Bring water to a boil, and pour over basil leaves in a mug. Allow to seep for 5-10 minutes (depending on desired strength) Sweeten with Honey if desired. (Honey is also known to be a relaxant.) And enjoy!
Long story short, if you are tired of pesto, make some basil tea — I promise that you won’t regret it.
Happy tea drinking,
To the wildflower out there, somewhere in the world, who feels like all her petals have been taken. To the bird or butterfly, who's lost their wings to fly and feel like it'd be better if they died. To the soul who's lost in darkness, waiting for the walls to cave in. To the one who has abusive scars you can't seem to get past, that have ruined every bit of your life. To the daughter or son, who feels like a disgrace to their family in every way.
To the one who's lost the dearest person on earth to them, and you're wondering how you're going to keep living. You just want to end it all.
I want you to know you are not alone. You're not a disappointment or a disgrace. You're a warrior. Yes, you are strong. And I want you to know how beautiful you are. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I promise one day you'll get back your petals and bloom into a flower most spectacular; you'll get back your wings and sore so high they will never know how you learned to fly. You'll learn to live again even with the missing piece of the person you loved the most.
Those abusive scars that have ruined your life: you will heal from them in time.
To the one who felt like a disgrace, you will see you're nothing but excellence!💪🏽
So please, if you're thinking about ending your life: don't. Suicide is not the way out. Keep fighting and don't fight alone. Get help. Please. We need you here. I need you here.
You. Are. loved.
You. Are. Not. Alone.
So please don't go.
We need you,
Hi I’m Izzie, the face behind the blog and the basil!
I’m a Caribbean American first-generation micro farmer in the Northern part of the sunshine state of Florida. I started farming in the middle of the pandemic. I tend to be quite the ambitious human in the family, it has been a wild ride but I am very excited for this endeavor. This was my first official growing season as a farmer, but I have had a couple years of experience as a small home gardener. Growing up we always had a small family garden, and guess who hated it?! ME! I was the kid in the family who would have literal tears running down my face when it came time for working in the garden, but if you know my mom you know that was not an excuse she still had me come to the garden with her (Thanks mom haha). I eventually got a liking for it and in the summer time I planted a patch of summer squash and gave the harvest to my music teachers. Then in my early teens I hated it again,I wanted nothing to do with it, I had zero patience like your typical teen. Long story short, a couple years later here I am, with a micro farm, selling produce, while helping you as a garden consultant/coach start your own agriculture journey.
On the list of the many things I am passionate about, Toxin free/ethical living and mental health, is on the top, which I will talk about here on the blog as well.
