![]() Hi I’m Izzie, the face behind the blog and the basil! I’m a Caribbean American first-generation micro farmer in the Northern part of the sunshine state of Florida. I started farming in the middle of the pandemic. I tend to be quite the ambitious human in the family, it has been a wild ride but I am very excited for this endeavor. This was my first official growing season as a farmer, but I have had a couple years of experience as a small home gardener. Growing up we always had a small family garden, and guess who hated it?! ME! I was the kid in the family who would have literal tears running down my face when it came time for working in the garden, but if you know my mom you know that was not an excuse she still had me come to the garden with her (Thanks mom haha). I eventually got a liking for it and in the summer time I planted a patch of summer squash and gave the harvest to my music teachers. Then in my early teens I hated it again,I wanted nothing to do with it, I had zero patience like your typical teen. Long story short, a couple years later here I am, with a micro farm, selling produce, while helping you as a garden consultant/coach start your own agriculture journey. On the list of the many things I am passionate about, Toxin free/ethical living and mental health, is on the top, which I will talk about here on the blog as well. 10 fun facts about me:
Well I hope I didn’t bore you to death, if you made it to the end you are a real one! Thanks so much for stopping in on my little corner of the internet! I hope we can be friends :) My hope for you is; “May every seed you plant Flor-ish.” Happy farming, Izzie
